The Spiegel Lab is looking for multiple experienced and highly motivated individuals to support current research projects in synthetic organic chemistry as postdoctoral associates in the Chemistry Department at Yale. Initial appointments will be for one year with extensions both possible and desired. Successful candidates will:
Develop new synthetic methods to enable access to pharmaceutically relevant and bioactive structures.
Communicate and document findings in reports and peer-reviewed journals.
Perform all duties in compliance with operational safety, security, and quality guidelines.
Work both independently and in a team environment.
Mentor undergraduate and/or graduate students in an interdisciplinary research setting.
Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the positions have been filled.
The Spiegel Lab focuses on developing novel small-molecule-based paradigms for treating human disease. As a result, much of the research in the lab is conducted at the interface between organic chemistry, molecular biology, and immunology. The lab has made important advances in basic and applied areas of science including oncology, diabetes, virology, aging, and bacteriology. These diverse research interests have led to several entrepreneurial spin-offs.
