Summary: Palm Beach Atlantic University, an interdenominational, Christian university founded in 1968, located in the heart of West Palm Beach, FL, invites inquiries, nominations, and applications for the position of Dean of the Lloyd L. Gregory School of Pharmacy. Established in 2001 and having its full accreditation affirmed by ACPE as of 2020, the School of Pharmacy employs a diverse group of faculty members with expertise encompassing pharmacy practice, social sciences, and pharmaceutical sciences. Nearly 250 students are enrolled in the four-year doctoral program culminating with either a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree or a joint PharmD/Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree (offered in conjunction with the University’s Rinker School of Business). The School of Pharmacy has graduated nearly 1100 students since 2005. SUMMARY OF POSITION DUTIES: The Dean of the School of Pharmacy serves as the chief administrator for the School, effectively represents the School to internal and external stakeholders, and articulates and executes a clear vision for pharmacy education that is in line with current and future pharmacy healthcare practice. The Dean reports directly to the University’s Provost/Chief Academic Officer. The Dean oversees Assistant and Associate Deans as well as Chairs of the Pharmacy Practice and Pharmaceutical Sciences departments. It is the Dean’s responsibility to ensure that policies of the School are fully congruent with the mission and vision of both the University and the School.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: A PharmD, Ph.D, or equivalent terminal degree in a relevant academic discipline from an accredited university or college. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
QUALIFICATIONS: The Dean must demonstrate strong leadership qualities in the areas of academic program development and assessment, budget development and supervision, and fundraising, including the procurement of extramural funds to expand both clinical and research initiatives. The desirable candidate for Dean of the School of Pharmacy will further strengthen the School’s reputation as a premier Christian school of pharmacy with the mission of training servant-leaders. that demonstrate excellence and expertise in the field of pharmacy with character grounded in Christian faith. |
