The Principal Research Analyst serves the Office of the Vice Chancellor, Health Affairs (OVCHA) in areas of decision support, project management, and implementation and assessment of a broad range of health affairs strategic initiatives. Under minimal supervision of the Chief of Staff, the incumbent collaborates closely with executive leadership to plan, implement, and assess strategic initiatives. The Principal Research Analyst provides comprehensive expert analyses, manages and finalizes projects, and develops reports as needed to communicate results appropriately to a range of high-level internal and external audiences. Additionally, the Principal Research Analyst regularly works on issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. The incumbent must be able to exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Given the dynamic nature of the OVCHA, work assignments regularly arise with no precedent or clear policy or process for accomplishing them; therefore, this position requires a high level of independent judgment to follow a logical path to determine processes and communications appropriate to the successful attainment of strategic goals.
