PostdoctoralFellow in Urological Research
A Postdoctoral Fellow positionis available in the laboratory of Dr.M. Dennis Leo to study renal physiology, broadlydefined, that includes the kidney, urinary bladder and lower urinary tract.Candidates should have a Ph.D. degree with a strong background in physiology,pharmacology, urological research, cell and molecular biology, and experiencein animal and human research related to cell signaling and urinary bladderfunction/regulation. Ion channel and electrophysiology experience are preferredbut not mandatory.
This position will bepart of a collaborative project with the lab of Dr. Georgi V. Petkov. The Chairof the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Dr. Petkov, is currently buildinga Urology Research Center with focus on benign urology (overactive bladder andurinary incontinence) and kidney disease to facilitate the establishment of anNIH funded George M. O'Brien Research Center in the State of Tennessee.
Dr. Leo's labis in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, College of Pharmacy at theUniversity of Tennessee Health Science Center Campus in Memphis, Tennesseewithin a vibrant academic biomedical community that includes Le BonheurChildren's Medical Center, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, and theUniversity of Memphis. Excellent facilities and career developmentopportunities exist for post-doctoral fellows in the Department and acrosscampus.
