The Department of Pharmacy Services is responsible for the procurement, control and distribution of medications throughout UC Davis Health. It also guides, monitors and assures the quality of medication use under the auspices of the UC Davis Medical Center Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee. Pharmacy's mission is to provide the highest quality and most cost-effective pharmaceutical care in an environment that fosters efficient patient-focused care, education and research. THIS IS NOT AN H1- B OPPORTUNITY The Associate Chief, Pharmacy Business Operations advises the Chief Pharmacy Officer on strategic planning and provides administrative leadership and direction within the pharmacy services lines to ensure achievement of the divisions strategic plan, financial budgets, informatics support, operational efficiency (key performance indictors) and allocation management measurements for pharmacy services for UC Davis Health. This individual acts as a liaison between UC Davis Health leadership and pharmacy leaders to create a culture of open communication within a safe and supportive environment. This position implements and maintains the financial and business goals and objectives which assures fiscally viable and optimal service delivery in all areas of Pharmacy Services at the health system level, including Acute Care Clinical, Acute Care Operations, Retail Services, Mail Order Pharmacy, Specialty Pharmacy Services, Home Infusion and System Pharmacy Supply Chain. Areas of direct management responsibilities include: business operations, pharmacy revenue cycle including billing, charge capture, denials and denial recoupment, analysis of reimbursement for acute care and ambulatory care, budget preparation and analysis for all service lines, pharmacy supply chain for 200 clinics, 5 retail operations, 2 infusion centers, 3 acute care pharmacies, 340B pharmacy program and HR management for the Department of Pharmacy. This role ensures that all areas operate within the established policies, procedures and in compliance with all local, state and federal regulations and guidelines. Other responsibilities include effectively managing financial and capital resources, inventory, equipment maintenance and supply acquisitions, analysis of income and expense reports, as well as coordinating related process improvement initiatives to improve efficiencies and achieve financial goals.
