AbbVie Inc.  (“Abbvie” or the “Company”) has engaged Major, Lindsey & Africa (“MLA”) on an exclusive basis to conduct a search for a Section Head-IP Litigation to be located in North Chicago, Illinois.

This position, which will be located in the Company’s headquarters in North Chicago, Illinois, requires an Undergraduate degree from a well-known university/college combined with a J.D. from a highly respected law school, Bar Admission in good standing approved by a State Bar Association, and a minimum of twelve (12) years of patent litigation experience, including some corporate in-house experience. The ideal candidate will have prior pharmaceutical industry experience.

The candidate, reporting to the Vice President of Intellectual Property, will oversee the management and strategy of the company’s global patent litigation. The addition of this new position to oversee the AbbVie IP Litigation group will increase its capacity to meet the company’s growing technological focus. This position will be responsible for overseeing the management and strategy of the company’s global patent litigation, developing and driving strategies for AbbVie’s patent litigation matters, forming litigation teams, and negotiating and drafting settlements in AbbVie’s patent litigations.
