Pharmacy PGY1 and PGY2 Residents: Critical Care, Infectious Disease and Solid Organ Transplant
Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center
PGY1: The PGY1 Pharmacy Resident is a graduate of an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) accredited degree program or has a Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Committee (FPGEC) certificate from the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP), who is pursuing a one-year post-graduate experience in acute care clinical practice. Licensure is critical to completion of the PGY1 Pharmacy Residency requirements and therefore residents must be licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts at the start of residency, or eligible for licensure, and then licensed within 90 days of the commencement of the residency. The PGY1 Pharmacy Resident provides comprehensive medication management services through integrated drug distribution, clinical pharmacy services and teaching. The resident provides these services consistent with other services provided by pharmacists at BIDMC. The PGY1 Pharmacy Residency program is jointly supported by the MCPHS University and BIDMC.
PGY2: The PGY2 resident is a registered pharmacist pursuing a second one-year post-graduate experience in acute care clinical practice. Provides comprehensive pharmaceutical care through integrated drug distribution, clinical services and teaching. Provides services consistent with other services provided by pharmacists at BIDMC and additional clinical services aligned with the specialty residency. The residency training program is jointly supported by the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences University (MCPHS University) and BIDMC.
