Yale-New Haven Hospital (YNHH) is a tertiary care hospital in the Yale-New Haven Health System. YNHH centers of excellence include oncology, pediatrics, orthopedic, cardiology, and women's health. YNHH serves as the primary teaching site for Yale University Schools of Medicine and Nursing. New Haven is located on the shoreline of Connecticut (Long Island Sound), a two hour drive from New York City and Boston.
Our PGY 2 Investigational Drugs and Research pharmacy residency program builds on Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) education and PGY1 pharmacy residency programs to contribute to the development of clinical research pharmacists. The residency program is designed to develop skilled clinical research pharmacists who provide exceptional pharmaceutical care to research patients, and are leaders who can manage ever-changing landscape of research pharmacy. It also provides opportunities to collaborate with world-renowned researchers.
Core rotations include: IDS operations, IDS cancer care centers, IDS regulatory compliance, IDS leadership and management, and research patient care. Multiple electives allow the resident to tailor learning to their interests, with ~ 50% of learning experiences focused on oncology practice settings, and others provide experience to critical care and ambulatory care settings. Completion of the residency program will prepare pharmacists for specialized career in clinical research, with opportunities in hospital, industry, and regulatory agencies.
Applications are accepted via Phorcas and must include a CV, letter of intent and 3 letters of recommendation. Successful completion of PGY1 residency required; Must be eligible for Connecticut licensure.
