Number of PGY2 Cardiology Resident Positions: 1

Required Rotations: Orientation (1 month), Research (1 month), Clinical Cardiology (2 months), Heart Failure/LVAD (2 months), CV ICU (2 months)

Elective Rotations: Anticoagulation, Cardiac Cath Lab, non-ICU Cardiovascular Surgery, Electrophysiology, Outpatient Cardiology, Emergency Department, Infectious Diseases, Medical ICU, and Palliative Care.  Some of our elective rotations can be done as 2-week or 1 month experiences based on resident preference. 

Longitudinal Rotations: Research, Pharmacy Services (Staffing), Medical Emergencies/ACLS, and Education/Practice Management

Teaching Opportunities: 

• Optional Teaching Certificate Program at the University of Cincinnati College of Pharmacy
• Teaching experiences at University of Cincinnati College of Pharmacy
• Precepting experience with IPPE and APPE students on rotation as well as with PGY1 residents

The Pharmacy Department is an integral component of the hospital and provides 24-hour pharmaceutical care designed to enhance quality, promote safety, and ensure compliance with regulatory agencies. The pharmacy model employs a combination of centralized, decentralized, and satellite services. Clinical services include ambulatory care, antimicrobial stewardship, cardiology, critical care, emergency medicine, internal medicine, oncology, and palliative care.
