Our PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency Program is an ASHP-accredited twelve-month structured training program that focuses on inpatient medication therapy management. Residents will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to provide optimal pharmaceutical patient care. Our program is designed to enhance the residents’ clinical skills and competence.Required rotations include:

St. Francis Hospital (SFH), The Heart Center®, is a member of Catholic Health Services of Long Island (CHSLI). SFH is the only specialty designated cardiac center in New York State. We are nationally recognized as a leader in cardiac care with specialties in heart surgery, cardiac catheterization angioplasty, and the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac arrhythmias. SFH also offers outstanding clinical programs in urology, orthopedics, gastroenterology, neurology & neurosurgery, pulmonology, geriatrics, and oncology. The Cancer Institute is an accredited comprehensive community-based cancer program that provides compassionate care involving a multidisciplinary team led by distinguished Oncologists with a focus on excellence. Our Unit-Based Pharmacy Program supports the active clinical role of pharmacists as a vital member of the healthcare team. Unit-Based Pharmacists are involved in multidisciplinary rounds, provide drug information to the healthcare team and patients, and assist in medication reconciliation. The off-site Infusion Center Pharmacy provides medication management services for our Cancer Institute and other specialties requiring parenteral therapy.

Candidates must: 1.Possess a Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from an ACPE accredited School of Pharmacy 2.Be eligible for New York State licensure 3.Be a United States citizen or permanent resident Prospective candidates are required to submit: 1.Letter of Intent 2.Curriculum vitae (CV) 3.Official college of pharmacy academic transcript 4.Three letters of recommendation Community service is preferred. Applications are due on January 15th of the residency year via the Pharmacy Online Residency Centralized Application Service (PhORCASTM). An on-site interview is required. |
