Norman Regional Health System PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency
Norman Regional Health System (NRHS) in Norman, Oklahoma seeks to fill three (3) positions in the PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program accredited by ASHP. This is a 12-month program that assists residents in becoming confident and competent clinical practitioners of pharmaceutical care. NRHS is a multi-campus system that provides for the health and wellness needs of our regional communities throughout south central Oklahoma. The residency program supports a high degree of involvement in an interdisciplinary approach to patient care with an emphasis on development and maintenance of clinical pharmacy services. The residents will participate in both distributive and clinical pharmacy activities resulting in a well-rounded experience. Teaching activities include precepting APPE student clinical rotations, professional in-services, topic discussions, journal clubs, and other activities. The ASHP Teaching Certificate is offered as an elective. Residents will be required to complete a Major Project including poster presentation at the ASHP Mid-Year Clinical Meeting, a podium presentation at a residency conference and completion of a manuscript-style summary of the project.

The stipend is $43,500 for the residency. Residents have 10 days of vacation and sick time in addition to 4 major holidays off. Residents will also receive professional leave to attend at least one professional conference, but usually includes two, the exception being this year (2020-2021) due to the ongoing pandemic. Requirements: Doctor of Pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy, eligibility for licensure in the state of Oklahoma, letter of intent, curriculum vitae, academic transcript from college of pharmacy, three letters of recommendation, and an interview. Applicants must apply using the PhORCAS application and register with the ASHP Residency Matching Program through National Matching Services. The application deadline for the 2021-2022 residency year is January 8th, 2021. |
