Galt Pharmaceuticals is a unique pharmaceutical company that seeks to serve unmet needs within health care. The company applies pharmaceutical, managed care and marketing expertise to develop, license and acquire pharmaceutical products for distribution, partnering with independent pharmacies to deliver patient-centered, community-driven care. Galt is the first and only pharmaceutical company to utilize a franchise model, trademarked as “phranchise,” allowing for entrepreneurs the opportunity to build their own pharmaceutical business locally, rather than the centralized, corporate model of traditional pharma.
The fellowship is a one-year experience concentrated in medical affairs, involving various experiences in medical information, scientific communications and field medical support. Fellows also will have the opportunity to be involved in cross-functional projects with regulatory, marketing and commercial operations. In addition, the chosen applicant will work alongside Galt’s two cofounders, CEO Barry Patel, PHARMD ‘92, who co-founded and later sold the pharmaceutical outcomes research and education company Total Therapeutic Management and chairman Wade Smith, PHARMD ‘88, both of whom are Mercer graduates.
Fellows will also have the opportunity to engage in research and teaching opportunities with faculty at Mercer University College of Pharmacy.
Applicants from PharmD or graduate programs must include a letter of intent, CV, two reference letters, and an unofficial transcript. Official transcripts will be required upon acceptance into the fellowship program to confirm degree conferral.
While applications will be accepted via PPS, potential applicants can also send their materials together via one email to email@example.com. Emails that do not include all of the required attachments will be considered incomplete.
