The joint PGY-2 program at CBM and NMPRC, in affiliation with the UMKC School of Pharmacy and Comprehensive Pharmacy Services (CPS), has two ASHP accredited positions available for the 12-month period beginning July 1st. As a member of the pharmacy staff, the resident provides pharmaceutical care to Department of Mental Health clients in two state-operated facilities. Residents are active members of multi-disciplinary treatment teams in all settings and work to improve care of the seriously mentally ill. In addition, the residents contribute to improving and enhancing patient care through research and medication use evaluations (MUEs). Off-site rotation opportunities offer a wide range of experience, ensuring the resident is comfortable in a variety of practice settings. The residency training program prepares the clinician for the challenges of providing primary care and consultation in psychiatric pharmacy practice.

Applicants should have a Pharm.D. degree, or equivalent experience, with completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency Program and be eligible for licensure in Missouri. (PGY-2) Psychiatric Pharmacy Residency Position:
This 12-month, ASHP-accredited program is offered through the Center for Behavioral Medicine, Northwest Missouri Psychiatric Rehabilitation Center, the State of Missouri Department of Mental Health (DMH) and Comprehensive Pharmacy Services (CPS)., in affiliation with University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) School of Pharmacy.
Two positions are available July 1st. The program offers a diverse array of rotation and teaching opportunities to develop specialized skills in psychiatric pharmacy.
Psychiatric rotation opportunities exist in forensic, outpatient, acute care, extended-care and long-term inpatient care, substance abuse, PTSD, academia, consult-liaison, child/adolescent, neurology, and psychopharmacy research.
Teaching opportunities for the residents include presenting psychopharmacology lectures to medical students, pharmacy students, and PGY1 and PGY2 psychiatry residents. Precepting pharmacy students for APPE rotations is also available.
Presentations include Journal Club, Case Conference and two Grand Rounds to the facility.
Completion of an administrative and residency project is required. Th...e position carries an adjunct professor appointment with the UMKC School of Pharmacy.
Requirements: PGY1 completion, Pharm.D. or equivalent experience, eligible for Missouri license.
