St. Vincent's Medical Center PGY1 Residency Programs OverviewThese one-year residency programs utilize a systems approach to facilitate the development of new pharmacists into competent practitioners able to provide patient-centered pharmaceutical care. Our programs foster the residents’ ability to work in multidisciplinary teams, develop strong leadership skills, strong verbal and written communication skills and become lifelong, self-directed learners. The foundation of these programs is built upon St. Vincent’s Medical Center core values as part of Hartford HealthCare of caring, safety, excellence and integrity. Both programs are accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists. The PGY1 program accepts two residents per year, and the PGY1 Community program accepts one resident per year.
