Responsible for assisting and leading different aspects of procurement, including availability, inventory management, and control of pharmacy purchases. Orders product using best possible source of procurement with the goal of achieving contract compliance across multiple purchase accounts and contracts. Responsible for working within 340B policy and with cooperation of 340B and financial analysts. Researches backorders and locates substitute products as necessary. Establish and/or uses reports for reviewing procurement of pharmaceuticals. Orders controlled substances based on standard process for ordering and in compliance with DEA requirements.
*Ensures that the pharmacy is stocked with essential, formulary approved pharmaceuticals and performs all related purchasing duties.
*Maintains cost effective inventory levels of all formulary drugs and supplies based upon financial analytics reporting.
*Complies with 340B requirements and policy as well as group purchasing contracts to ensure optimal cost-effectiveness in all purchases.
*Supports Review of pharmacy stock for outdates, overstock, and proper storage on a routine basis to ensure the timely return of outdated items and/or recommended deletions from formulary based on movement of stock.
*Reviews drug shortages and notifies business, clinical, and operations pharmacy managers.
*Ensures that all orders are processed in accordance to pre-established guidelines.
*Evaluates and corrects invoice discrepancies.
*Ensures proper fling of purchase orders, invoices, and controlled substances forms in compliance with the needs of the department and regulatory agencies with each site buyers.
*Other duties as assigned may include some pharmacy technician operations, stocking, unit checks, teaching of students/interns/resident.

*Ability to work independently and with little supervision.
*Possess strong customer services skills, training skills and negotiating skills.
*Knowledge of inventory management, purchasing and warehousing.
*Excellent communication skills to effectively relay information to co-workers, customers and vendors.
*Ability to read and follow written instructions and to write procedures regarding daily activities.
*Knowledge of general acute care pharmacy operations.

*Proficiency with Epic, IE/Chrome/Firefox, MS Office, required.
*Proficiency with various internet ordering platforms including Lawson ERP software, preferred.
* High School Diploma or GED
* PTCB Certified Pharmacy Technician (Required)
