A new exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced manager to lead the Strategy and Operations function in Puerto Rico, managing the five members of the Learning and Development (L&D), Market Research (MR) and Sales Operations (SO) team. This individual will work closely with the Access, Business Unit, Finance and Medical Directors and will be a crucial member of the Puerto Rico Leadership Team. This position reports to the General Manager, Puerto Rico and Caribbean.
Accountable for the L&D, MR and SO functions, guiding strategy and execution in close partnership with the reporting Managers as well as the cross-functional Directors, including:
Lead strategic projects specific to the sales force customer model evolution, sales force analytics and planning as well as initiatives to enhance sales force effectiveness;
Support the insight generation process via market research and business intelligence and analytics (BI&A) projects;
Provide strategic leadership to the L&D organization to deliver development, capabilities and coaching plans in line with people and business objectives;
Key member of the PR Leadership Team, creating, prioritizing and driving its agenda in line with the commercialization goals and objectives;
Lead the strategic and functional planning cycle, identifying and driving common initiatives across functions to address emerging business trends;
Responsible for leading integration activities across functions, identifying internal processes and owners as well as improvement opportunities;
Build a strong team by effectively coaching, developing and energizing all members;
Promote a culture of openness, diversity and inclusion that drives innovation and employee engagement across all functions;
Ensure that all practices are compliant with relevant laws, regulations and BMS standards of business conduct and ethics.
BS/BA degree or equivalent; MBA preferred
7+ years of pharmaceutical industry experience in Operations, Marketing or Sales roles. Successful experience working with a field force and leading a team is preferred;
Demonstrated success in driving operational excellence in a matrix organization by establishing an aligned set of deliverables, contingency plans and metrics;
Robust analytical skills with experience analyzing, correlating and interpreting data into actionable items;
Knowledge of business planning and budgeting processes;
Superb leadership skills with a strong ability to build, engage and develop a diverse team while holding its members accountable for results, behaviors and continuous improvement;
Ability to build alignment and drive performance across matrix teams through personal influence;
Adept communicator with the ability to express articulately, credibly and convincingly in English and Spanish.
