Overview: The residents will primarily work from the Fred Meyer Healthy Options® Patient Care Centers located in Vancouver, Washington. The primary site for the residents is the Orchards Fred Meyer Pharmacy location, the Fred Meyer Division and the District Offices in Portland, Oregon. Although the residency is based out of the locations listed above, the resident will spend time at other Fred Meyer Pharmacy locations, the Washington State College of Pharmacy campus in Spokane, WA, and The Vancouver Clinic in Vancouver, WA. Fred Meyer is a division of the Kroger family of grocery stores; a family-friendly, one-stop shopping store with 133 pharmacies in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and Alaska. - The Fred Meyer Pharmacy at Orchards provides an expanded level of pharmaceutical care to the community which includes wellness and screening services such as glucose, cholesterol, blood pressure, and body composition. Additional services include tobacco cessation and chronic disease state coaching, advanced clinical services with pharmacist prescribing, diabetes prevention program (DPP), immunizations and travel medicine. In addition, medication therapy management, medication synchronization programs, transitions of care and collaborative drug therapy agreement programs provide pharmacists with the opportunity to collaborate with other health care professionals to help patients better manage their health by providing comprehensive care.

- The Division Office leadership provides support and guidance for pharmacy locations within the division. Residents will shadow and work with leadership who are responsible for driving execution of the company’s strategic plan at the individual pharmacy level.

As a physician-owned and governed group, The Vancouver Clinic is dedicated to building a stimulating practice setting based upon teamwork and mutual respect within the organization. As integrated members of the community, they are committed to public service and sharing medical expertise. The Vancouver Clinic also provides a Transitions of Care Clinic to serve patients who are at the highest risk of readmission, including those suffering from serious illness, frailty and social isolation.
