University of the Sciences (USciences) seeks applications for a Data Analyst. The Data Analyst is responsible for providing support to the Director of Assessment in the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy, and the Office of Institutional Effectiveness at Usciences. This position focuses on collecting, managing, analyzing, and reporting data to guide educational and administrative innovation and improvement as well as assist with upcoming accreditation visits from the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) and the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE). Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, utilizing various systems and procedures for processing and analyzing institutional and educational effectiveness; managing a data entry pipeline; developing and optimizing data management processes; preparing datasets for analysis; developing and managing data dashboards, and preparing routine reports for administrators and other key stakeholders.
Specific responsibilities include:
Manages databases (e.g. Excel, SPSS, assessment management platforms) by entering new and updated student and course information.
Extracts data from primary or secondary sources and cleans, prepares, and makes necessary transformations.
Develops and implements data analyses, data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality.
Utilizes and proactively strengthens technical skills required for troubleshooting programs, applications, and discrepancies in datasets
Extracts data from primary or secondary data sources
Interprets data and analyzes results using statistical techniques.
Tracks, analyzes and ensures the accuracy of incoming data from numerous sources (e.g., computer-based testing platforms, learning management system, ePortolios) and ensures safe storage in appropriate locations.
Assists with the design of web-based surveys, course-based and program assessments using multiple platforms, such as Qualtrics and the university assessment system.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders (faculty, staff) regarding analysis and translation of data-based findings
Prepare tables, charts, graphs and other data visualizations
Generates and analyzes reports of enrollment and assessment data for key stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelors' Degree required in social science, statistics, research methodology, higher education, or a related discipline and 1-2 years experience in the analysis and dissemination of information; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in supporting offices of higher education assessment or institutional research, or experience in higher education, including educational innovation and assessment preferable.
The candidate should have excellent data management, project management, and communication skills including experience with compiling, interpreting, and disseminating data. Advanced MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point) and Outlook knowledge, along with Google Apps is essential; familiarity with SPSS or Stata software is a plus.

Ability to quickly learn to use advanced software and hardware technologies. Working knowledge of data management, project management, data visualization, survey, and office support software systems.
