Summary of Position: This position is responsible for performing research in the fields of nanomaterial and cell biology. Other responsibilities include supervision of junior students and postdocs, grant and manuscript writing, lab management.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
30 % Develop and optimize various types of nanoparticles, and peptide conjugation. Perform cellular and animal studies to evaluate their diagnostic and therapeutic efficacy.
20 % Independently design and implement novel research directions by integrating peptide-targeting technologies with clinical problems.
20 % Carry out proteomic studies on cellular endocytic processes.
15 % Prepare manuscripts; dissemination of results in journals and at conferences.
10 % Assist with drafting proposals for grants.
5 % Provide work direction for, mentor, and train pre-doctoral students, undergraduate and junior postdocs.
Supervision: May supervise undergraduate students. Will provide work direction for, mentor, and train pre-doctoral students, undergraduate and junior postdocs.
Working Conditions: The work will be performed in a multi-disciplinary lab. The person in this position will be expected to interact with researchers from multiple backgrounds.
Required Qualifications: Advanced degree in the field of nanomaterial and cell biology (PhD or equivalent) and one year of post-graduate research experience in the fields of nanomaterial synthesis and optimization, cell biology and nanomedicine. Solid track record in scientific publishing and writing. Ability to independently carry out research projects and manuscript preparation.
Preferred Qualifications: Grant writing Large-scale screening, such as RNAi, CRISPR/Cas9, chemical, etc.
